Courses Taught:

AGRON 120, 121
Crop Science Lecture and Lab

Lecture (3 hr) and Lab (1 hr)

A basic course for majors in agronomy and others interested in crop production. Topics include:

  • practices used in the culture of grain and forage crops;

  • crop classification, structure, growth, and improvement;

  • crop response to environmental factors, soils, and pests; and

  • associated management practices.

AGRON 350
Plant and Seed Identification

Lab (2 hr)

A skill-development course covering identification of crops and weeds by seed and vegetative characteristics.

 

Many students interested in joining our Crops Team take this course!

AGRON 450 and AGRON 600
Crops Judging Teams (spring and fall)

I coach both the fall (Collegiate) and spring (NACTA) crops competition teams. The Crops Judging Team at Kansas State University was founded in 1923 and a dynasty has been established in its 100+ year history!
